Hi, and thanks for checking out my website!
I'm a Norwegian concept artist with experience from the film industry, computer gaming and print publishing. So far, this includes characters and costumes on Star Wars Episode III, art direction for the Funcom MMO Age of Conan, and book illustrations for Cornelsen Verlag, Germanys leading publisher of schoolbooks.
Both my parents are artists, and they have influenced me towards unrestrained imagination and creativity from early on. I've always loved creating fantastic characters and worlds, and as I have grown I've increasingly added elements of history and realism into my works.
I studied Visual Communication at Muenster University of Applied Sciences in Germany, specializing in illustration. During my studies I worked on a number of projects, like illustrating schoolbooks for Cornelsen Verlag, and doing concept work for the film director Harald Zwart. I specialized in concept art and earned a Master's degree in illustration and graphic design.
In 2003 I was employed at Lucasfilm Ltd for the production of Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith. Under the supervision of Trisha Biggar and Iain McCaig I created costume and character concepts. This assignment involved work in three different locations; Elstree Film Studios in London, Skywalker Ranch in San Francisco and Fox Studios in Sydney.
Later I returned to Norway as Art Director for Funcom, a computer game developer specializing in consoles and online gaming. I handled Art direction for games as Age of Conan: Rise of the Godslayer, supervising art teams both in Oslo and Beijing.
I am currently working on various projects as a freelance artist.
